The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken commendable steps. He has donated Rs 20 crore to the Army Welfare Fund to help the martyrs' families. This amount was given on Saturday just before the inaugural match of IPL 2019. This money belongs to the Opening Ceremonies of the Indian Premier League. Let us know that the first match of the league will be played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Chennai at 8 o'clock today.

According to the BCCI release, 'It was decided unanimously that 11 crores of Indian Army, seven crore rupees will be given to CRPF while one crore rupees will be given to Navy and Air Force.'

COA chairman Vinod Rai said, "As a federation, we felt that a regular inaugural ceremony of the IPL should not be made, but we decided to give this amount for some good work which is close to everyone's heart."

His associate Diana Idulji said, 'This is a welcome move and reflects respect for those who lost their lives in the intense attack. The BCCI has always been sensitive to national interest and will continue to contribute this kind of time whenever required.

It is noteworthy that 40 CRPF jawans were martyred in the Kaireana terror attack in Pulwama. After this, the CoA decided to give its amount to the armed forces instead of not having a grand opening ceremony for the IPL.

COA Chairman Vinod Rai said, "As the federation, we felt that it should be ok to not hold the regular IPL inaugural ceremony this time. We decided to give the opening ceremonial amount to them, which are important and close to everyone's heart.
