Election Commission direction for political parties: Leaders will not be able to interview press briefings and newspapers or TVs on 48 hours before polling (Silence Period). Election Commission has issued instructions to all 41 political parties in this regard on Saturday.
The Lok Sabha will have to vote in seven phases. Polling will be held on April 11 in the first phase. For this, the election campaign will end on April 9. But in other areas where elections are to be held in the next phase, the leader will not be able to deliver such speeches in which it has come to demand support for seats in front of the direct or indirect form *. The Commission has sent this directive to the Chief Secretaries and Election Officers of all the States.
Actually applicable provision: The Commission has asked all the parties to direct their leaders and workers that they follow the Silence Period fully. They should not do any work that is against the spirit of section 126 of the Representation of People Act.
Two-day liquor ban: On the promotion of the promotion, it will be declared a 'dry day' which will continue till the end of the voting. This order will also apply to certain types of licensed licensing institutions.
