 World Health Day 2020: a time when the entire world is battling the corona virus (Covid-19), the World Health Organization has observed the foremost nurses in fighting this pandemic on World Health Day celebrated on 7 April every year. And has dedicated this day to other health workers.


According to the update released today by WHO on the theme of World Health Day 2020, this international year of nurses and midwives will highlight the state of nursing across the world. The WHO and its affiliates will make several recommendations to strengthen the status of nursing and midwife field personnel.

The WHO called upon everyone to cooperate to empower nursing and midwife personnel so that necessary health facilities can be readily available everywhere and to all people.

On the occasion of World Health Day 2020, WHO is also launching the World Nursing Report 2020 which will prove to be an evidence-based policy aid to enhance nursing personnel and their role around the world.
