New Delhi: India has registered its name as space superpower on Wednesday, killing a live satellite from an anti-missile in space. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave this information in the message of the nation on Wednesday. India has become the fourth country in the space to shoot live satellites in the lower class. Earlier this was the achievement of America, Russia, and China. PM Modi said, "A Live Satellite was killed in the three minutes from the 'A-SAT' indigenous anti-satellite missile under Mission Power."

What is the mission power?
Anti Satellite Vipans (ASAT) is designed to destroy or deactivate satellites. There are many countries with this capability, but only four countries including India have proved their ASAT capabilities. For the first time in the United States, the year 1958, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) tested 1964 and China had tested ASAT in 2007. In the year 2015, Russia tested its PL-19 Nudol missile and followed it with other tests. In February 2010, the DRDO had announced that India is developing the necessary technology to create a weapon to destroy the enemy satellites in space.
After testing by China in 2007, many countries have criticized the move and may have to face serious consequences of engaging in militarization in space. China had tried to overcome the fears saying it would not participate in any kind of weapons race in outer space. The ASAT missile has achieved a new feat in the Indian space program.
PM Modi said A-SAT missile will give new strength to India's space sector. It has not violated any international law or treaty. India has always been against arms race in space, and there has not been any change in this policy of the country (due to the launch of satellites).
Modi said that the new capability we have achieved is not against anybody but it is a protective initiative of India moving at a fast pace. He congratulated the scientists for this achievement. The Prime Minister said that to build an atmosphere of peace and security, building a strong India is essential and our aim is to create an atmosphere of peace and not to create an atmosphere of war.
